The Regional Director Pak Turk International Schools and Colleges Ali Yilmaz has called upon the business community of Pakistan to fully take part in two days long World Trade Bridge 2014. The World Trade Bridge 2014 is being organized by TUSKON at Expo Centre Istanbul from June 18, 2014.
Gülen offers condolences for slain İstanbul resident shot at protest
Turkish Islamic scholar Fethullah Gülen has offered condolences for Uğur Kurt, a 34-year-old who was waiting to attend a funeral outside a cemevi, an Alevi house of worship, was hit by a stray bullet allegedly from a police weapon and died in hospital on Thursday night.
Kimse Yok Mu offers a hand of compassion to Kyrgyz orphans
Kimse Yok Mu foundation will build an orphanage in the capital Bishkek. A school campus of about 1.8 hectares has been allocated for the orphanage. KYM will build a swimming pool and gym in addition to covering renovation and furnishing expenses. The complex will be launched in September.
MHP asks gov’t how many state officials reassigned after graft scandal
Since the widespread corruption and bribery investigation became public, thousands of police officers have been reassigned or removed from their posts because of alleged links to the Hizmet movement, inspired by the teachings of Turkish Islamic scholar Fethullah Gülen. In addition to the thousands of police officers, the government has replaced the prosecutors who initiated the investigation as well as dozens of officials at various state institutions, including public prosecutors’ offices.
CHP asks gov’t about file allegedly targeting TUSKON
Complaints over the past month from the Turkish Confederation of Businessmen and Industrialists (TUSKON) over increased political pressure and profiling of its members have now been conveyed to Parliament, with the CHP demanding a governmental explanation on the issue.
Afghan minister: Afghanistan will continue to support Turkish schools
Samim said: “Afghanistan has been going through a very difficult period over the last 30 years. Everything has been overturned by the civil war, bringing the state to a near-collapse with internal conflicts. During this period, Turkey has always been with us. Columnist fired from pro-gov’t daily after critical comment over Soma
In a similar development, the Yenişafak daily, another pro-government newspaper fired columnist Süleyman Gündüz for his refusal to toe the newspaper’s line against Hizmet Movement (also known as Gülen movement) led and inspired by Islamic scholar Fethullah Gülen.
Filipino businessman grateful for Turkish schools
Filipino Chairman of Union of Chambers and Exchange Commodities Abdulgani Macatoman praised the Turkish schools operating in his country for their achievements. “My both children are studying at the Turkish schools. These schools have been among the top-rated all the time. We have a total of 926 high schools in the capital Manila and the Turkish schools top the list. As the government has launched a sweeping campaign to eliminate any employees, be they public servants or academics, that it suspects of having links with Hizmet from state institutions, Özsoy said the purge is not restricted to state universities. It now includes private universities, too.
Kimse Yok Mu team in action in Bosnia
The rains affected 1 million 200 thousand Bosnians. KYM rescue team immediately arrived in the region to reach out to the victims. Kimse Yok Mu Foundation tasked its rescue team ASYA to the flood-ridden Bosnia. The foundation also delivered initially 75 million dollar assistance to the region, troubled with the most disastrous rainfall of the past 120 years.
Gülen makes application to top court over slanderous report
The report is only one example of a growing campaign of slander against Gülen. The scholar, who has inspired a worldwide religious network that defends peaceful coexistence through dialogue and education, is currently being targeted in a large-scale smear campaign, which is sponsored by the Turkish government.
FM Davutoğlu annuls decree ordering Turkish embassies to support Gülen Movement: Reports
The first decree was signed by then-Foreign Minister Abdullah Gül during the first months of the Justice and Development Party (AKP) government with the demand of support from National View Organizations and Turkish schools operated by the Gülen community.
