Islamic scholars convene at ijtihad symposium in İstanbul

ISTANBUL
Around 100 Islamic scholars from many parts of the world gathered at İstanbul Congress Center at ijtihad conference organized by Yeni ümit and Hira Magazines.
The two-day long symposium will focus on issues on ijtihad on Islam. Professor Suat Yıldırım will chair the symposium.

The poor condition of state schools in Turkey was exposed by Today’s Zaman reporters on Monday, who found that despite the government expending considerable resources investigating and raiding private educational institutions sympathetic to the Gülen movement, many state schools fail to meet even basic health and safety standards.
